      Columbia Encyclopedia: Contains over 50,000 article entries, browsable alphabetically or full-text searchable.
      Encyclopedia.com: This excellent free encyclopedia allows you to search for fairly brief, but useful, general articles on a multitude of topics. The articles are hyperlinked to related subject areas.
